Rambling & Walking

rambling and walking

The sheer magnificence of coastal and West Wales needs to be seen first-hand to be fully appreciated. There’s no better way to witness its steep-sided cliffs, ocean vistas and woodland trails than through the freedom of rambling – and if you are staying with us at a Vale Holiday Park, do ask our staff for information on rambling in West Wales.

Much of the Pembrokeshire coastline is part of Britain's most spectacular National Park. Its vast wild landscapes are among the most picturesque in the country and a sanctuary for many types of rare flora and fauna. So even though there are many paths and tours you can take to familiarise yourself with the region, there is no substitute for striking off on your own to find whatever wonders the land has to offer, wherever the road, path or hillside may take you.

There is no substitute for striking off on your own to find whatever wonders the land has to offer.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has over 621 miles of paths and bridleways along which to explore. There is plenty of information available to help you to find a route that will be suited to your needs and ability. Whether you’re interested in an hour’s light rambling, an afternoon’s rambling with the family or our Goliath of rambles along a 186-mile track from St Dogmaels in the north to Amroth in the south, there is plenty of variety for everyone.

Rambling in Wales does not get better than this. As well as offering a wonderful opportunity to get the blood flowing and the smog from your lungs, the paths within the National Park also present wonders around almost every corner, perhaps a secluded beach or a viewpoint from which to take in the scenery, a place where you can spy the dolphins and whales that frequent the region, or one of the many historic monuments and castles that dot the landscape.
