Best beaches
As well as Gilfach’s private beach, here are 3 more recommendations which are all about a 30-minute drive to the south of Gilfach along the mid-Wales coast.
Aberporth - This award-winning sandy beach is a firm family-favourite. At low tide, you’ll find little rock pools which children love to explore. Plus, sections of the beach allow dogs year-round.
Tresaith - Popular for swimming, sailing and surfing, Tresaith is a small, Blue Flag sandy beach with rock pools and even a waterfall. On a calm day, the beach has a tropical feel, whilst at other times westerly winds bring much more dramatic scenes of waves crashing against cliffs and rocks.
Penbryn - Penbryn beach is a mile of soft sand, surrounded by cliffs. It is one of Ceredigion’s most popular beaches and is owned by the National Trust. It is also a great location for stargazing.
Walks for the family
There is plenty of great walking to do near Gilfach Holiday Village. Whether you’re looking for a shorter route for a dog walk, or fancy tackling the full Ceredigion Coastal Path over your time at the holiday park, we’ve listed two of our favourites below.
Our recommended dog walk - One of our favourite walks to take your dog on near Gilfach is the Cei Bach circular walk. This 1.5 mile circular walk provides great views and a section along a dog-friendly beach. Just make sure to time the walk with low tide!
Ceredigion Coast Path - There is access from Gilfach Holiday Village to the Ceredigion section of the Wales Coast Path. The section Gilfach is on (6.5 miles between New Quay to Aberearon) is a popular stretch of the path with pleasant walking and lovely views.
