Things to experience this winter
As well as all the Christmas magic in the air, there are a lot of great things to do in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire that aren’t holiday-related. It’s a gorgeous region of Wales no matter the season, although winter is the perfect time to…
Watch the sunset from the coast
On a clear evening, you can’t get a much more romantic sight than watching the sunset over the ocean. During November and December, it happens early enough for you to then make the most of the evening.
Why not head to the west of Pembrokeshire for uninterrupted sunset views over the waves? It’s important to stay warm and cosy so we suggest bringing a flask and picnic blanket if you’re at the beach.
Take a dip in the sea
This may sound like a summer activity, but taking a quick dip in cold water has a lot of health benefits and can be very invigorating (just be sure to do it safely).
If you need some more encouragement there are even organised swims at Saundersfoot on New Year's Day and a Boxing Day swim at Tenby!
Potter around the towns
There are loads of independent shops in the towns around Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire which are perfect to spend the day browsing.
We recommend Narberth and Tenby in particular, they have plenty of delightful boutiques and eateries. Also, just to the north of Pembrokeshire is Cardigan which has a fantastic Welsh high street including a toy shop and lots of places to eat at!
Where to stay
As much as a holiday is about having fun, it’s also about relaxing! So finding the perfect accommodation to kick back at the end of the day is key.
Our holiday parks in the West Wales region are peaceful countryside retreats. They’re well located though - only short drives away from some of the main attractions in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
