Caravan Culinary Tips - Piping Bag Pancakes

Rustling up a meal in a caravan isn't impossible. However, trying to pack all the cookware and ingredients you may need can get pretty heavy. With this in mind we've decided to start a series of posts sharing some of our easy peasy delicious dishes that can be prepared before you arrive, or simply just don't use many ingredients / pots & pans.

Cereal and toast does the job but let's face it isn't exactly a holiday treat. Mix it up on your caravan holiday by getting some pancakes on the go - with this little life hack it couldn't be easier and mess free.

The key to the recipe is to prepare your mixture before the trip! But how will you get it all the way to your caravan in a mixing bowl I hear you ask? You'll need to pop the pancake mixture into a few disposable piping bags - simple!

(Makes 8 pancakes)

- 100g plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 300ml semi-skimmed milk
- 1tbsp vegetable/sunflower oil
- a pinch of salt
- Disposable piping bags (you can get these from Tesco for just £2)

Step 1
Grab your bowl and mix together the flour and salt.

Step 2
Add your eggs, 50ml of milk and 1 tbsp of oil. You'll need to whisk this well until it's lump free.

Step 3
Next add in a touch more milk and whisk! It's time to add the remainder of your milk while you whisk. You're aiming for the consistency of thick cream.

Step 4
All you need to do now is tie a knot in the the bottom end of your piping bag, pour your mixture in, then tie another knot at the top and you're ready to go!

A couple of quick tips:
- Depending on the quality of your piping bags you may want to double up, just to avoid any breakages during your travels.
- When filling the piping bag pop it inside a cup, it will save a lot of mess
